What Are the Environmental Impacts of Structured Polycarbonate?

As you may have guessed, our multiwall roofing sheets are made using high-grade polycarbonate. When considering the environmental impact of roofing materials, polycarbonate sheets offer several advantages, such as:

Improved Energy Efficiency:

The thermal insulation properties of multiwall roofing panels help reduce the need for heating and cooling from an air conditioner or a heater. Thereby, lowering energy consumption, greenhouse gas emissions and your monthly bills.

Ability to Be Recycled:

Polycarbonate is recyclable, which helps to minimise waste and supports environmental sustainability. Proper disposal and recycling can reduce the ecological footprint of these materials. Once the material has been melted or shredded, producers can reuse and resell it.

Longer Lifespan:

Due to their durability and resistance to harsh weather conditions, polycarbonate sheets have a long lifespan. This reduces the frequency of replacements and waste associated with shorter-lived materials.

Multiwall Roofing Sheets Installation Guide:

Installing multiwall roofing panels is straightforward, but there are a few key steps to ensure the best results. If you are attempting to build the structure yourself, follow our multiwall roofing sheets installation guide below:

Cutting (optional): Use a fine-tooth blade to cut the sheets to size. Ensure the sheets are at room temperature to prevent splitting.
Joining Sheets: Use glazing bars to connect the sheets. These should run across the entire length of the multiwall roofing sheet.
Taping: For sheets 16 mm thick and above, we provide pre-taped edges with both aluminium and anti-dust breather tape. Below this, you will need to order it and tape the edges yourself.
